In November 2025, Peter Bezák and Magdaléna Bezáková from the Institute of Landscape Ecology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences visited the Thünen Institute in Braunschweig – one of the partners in the SUNRISE project.
The purpose of the visit was to exchange information and experiences regarding proposals for agroecological measures, planned research and monitoring methods for experimental plots, and forms of cooperation within the MAT group in the established Agricultural Living Labs (AELL).
In addition to an interesting and productive professional discussion, the team also visited experimental fields that are part of the institute. In the field, they were able to see established flower strips, which support pollinators and insects, contribute to biological pest control, increase biodiversity in agricultural landscapes, and enhance resilience to climate change.
The entire visit took place in a friendly working atmosphere, and we believe it will lead to even better collaboration in implementing the tasks of the SUNRISE project.
