In June, Pablo Tittonell from the University of Groningen, along with colleagues from INTA Bariloche visited the Tuscany Agroecological Living Lab.
Their visit to experimental farm was part of exchange initiatives within the European Network of Living Labs for Agroecology, supported by the SUNRISE project and funded by the European Partnership for Agroecology.
The project aims to foster knowledge sharing and collaboration in agroecological research, promoting co-design, co-experimentation, and the validation of agroecological solutions tailored to local agronomic contexts across Europe’s main farming systems: cereals, vegetables, fruit, livestock, and agroforestry.
During their visit, the agroforestry trials and cereal-legume intercropping experiments were showcased. The day was concluded with a tour of the barn, where discussions also focused on short supply chains and sustainable food choices, highlighted by Bancolat, recently reactivated raw milk vending machine.
